The Urban Legend:
Eyes In Darkness is a collective of spirits. It consists of the spirits of pre-adults
(Ages 6 – 16) who have been abused and subsequently died in discontentment. To humans EID appears as a black shadowy mass. It is said that if you look deep within the shadow you can see lidless eyes staring back at you. These eyes belong to the youths in life. This collective is rarely seen by the living, but it has been known to communicate verbally as a voice or even as a maddening din.
If a pre-adult is chosen by Eyes In Darkness then it will appear to them once before their demise. After death the chosen will undergo a judgment of sorts. They will believe and appear as if they are still alive. The judgment will continue as such until the abuser lashes out again. At this point the abuser is confronted by EID and the chosen youth decides the fate of their tormentor.
After judgment is completed, the youth is welcomed into the collective. The most notable signs of EID's involvement are the uncanny deaths of suspected abusers and the absence of eyes in the young victims. In some cases abusers are spirited away and never seen again. It is not known what happens to them. Despite this process it is thought that the collective exist happily when not seeking retribution.
